The 13th century Savoyard castle, Château de Troches, is located in the commune of Douvaine near the Swiss border in France.

The magnificent château offers over 20,000 square feet of interior space across 3 levels, with 17 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, and several lounges, games rooms, and an impressive paneled library.

The historic property originally belonged to the noble family of Troches in 1286, and was owned by the Ternier family in the 14th century.

The property was given up to the Amédée III of Geneva in 1341, and returned in 1445 to Amédée VIII, Duke of Savoy. Later sold to Antoine Passerat, who in 1682 became a baron of the domain.

For the next 100 years, the Château passed through several owners who improved the castle, yet by the end of the 18th century, the property was in a ruinous state.

Charles-Félix Trédicini de Saint-Séverin inherited the estate in 1854, and the chateau has belonged to his ancestors ever since.

An exceptional private residence, the chateau features stunning period detail throughout, with all of the modern luxuries.

The historic estate is set in nearly 15 acres of park, with a fountain, tennis court, and swimming pool.

The château boasts a secondary 1600 square foot outbuilding which has been converted into a luxurious spirits cellar.
