Stay at the French Riviera Villa From 'Downton Abbey: A New Era'
The French Riviera villa for rent is located in Le Pradet, a seaside village in the south of France—just 1 hour from Saint Tropez, France.
The 2022 film took place in 1928, and in the story, it’s revealed that 86-year-old Lady Violet visited the French Riviera in her youth and has inherited a spectacular Belle Epoque villa.
Rocabella is the fabulous property featured in the film, built in the Napoleonic style in the late 19th century by Danish architect Hans-Georg Tersling, the favoured architect of Empress Eugenie.
Fully restored in 2000, the villa’s rich interiors and lush grounds were featured prominently in the film, perfectly evoking the romance of the south of France for the upper class in the height of the roaring 20’s.
The Belle Epoque villa is nestled in 5 acres of parkland with private access to the sea, and can accommodate up to 42 guests in the villa, as well as a cottage and bastide on the grounds.
Overlooking the Mediterranean, the lush grounds come with a heated swimming pool and pétanque court.
Guests at this luxury holiday rental will experience a taste of the high life of yesteryear with daily breakfast, aperitif hour from 7-8pm, and personalized excursions.
You won’t miss Carson either, as the French Riviera villa comes fully catered with a chef, butler, barman and a housekeeper.
