Country House and 440-Acre Estate in the Heart of the Garden of England
Located just 4 miles south of Maidstone in Kent, the Grade I-listed Linton Park is set to be the country house sale of the century.
Surrounded by 20 aces of Grade II*-listed gardens, with its own cricket pitch , woods and parkland overlooking the Kentish Weald, it’s “everything an English estate should be,” said Mark McAndrew, head of national estates and farms agency at Strutt & Parker.
The 440-acre estate is sold with a coach house and 16 more detached residential properties, available in separate lots.
Originally built in 1730 by Robert Mann, it was later extended for the fifth Earl Cornwallis, by Thomas and William Cubitt in 1825. The former Cubbitt went on to build the “East Front” of the royal residence, Buckingham Palace, in 1847.
Beautifully restored, the 28,824 sq ft main house offers fine period detailing throughout the 12-bedroom home, with several palatial reception rooms, garden rooms, a catering kitchen, and offices.
In recent years, it was designated for office-use, however the sale presents the opportunity to convert Linton Park back into a private residence.
