Book a Stay at Lady Arabella Lennox-Boyd’s Childhood Home

Planning to travel to Italy? You can book a stay at Lady Arabella Lennox-Boyd’s childhood home, Palazzo Parisi, just 30 miles from Rome.

Palazzo Parisi sits on the summit of the medieval village of Oliveto, and at 1800 feet elevation, the palazzo is positioned for incredible views over the Sabine hills.

Yet it's the gardens that steal the show, immersed in a hectare of olive groves surrounded by thick stone walls. A formal garden near the house transitions to a naturalistic planting of olive trees leading to the infinity pool and pool house, and an allee of rose bushes creates a romantic pathway to the chapel.

"You should want to move from one part of the garden to another, to be stimulated, to make discoveries that excite or calm.”

The gardens were created by the Italian-born English garden designer Lady Arabella Lennox- Boyd, whose childhood home it was.

Her family, the Parisis, bought the palazzo in the 1940s and lovingly restored the historic property. Today, Palazzo Parisi is available as a holiday home for weekly rentals from May to October (price upon application) and sleeps 10 adults in six bedrooms with five bathrooms (additional room for two children).

Offering over 20,000 square feet of living space across 4 floors, with several frescoed reception rooms, and terracotta floors throughout that offer a cool respite from the sweltering midday sun.

A 70-foot covered terrace (loggia) offers a shaded alternative for dining alfresco, with incredible views over the Sabine hills. An incredible destination for a family vacation, and to celebrate life’s special events.

History: Although the village dates back to 1085, it only became a castle in the 15th century, owned by the Brancaleoni family. In the 17th century the castle was owned by the Barberini family who later sold it to the Principe di Santacroce.

In 1750 Marchese Girolamo Belloni bought the property and the title of ‘Marchese di Oliveto’. In 1817 the property was purchased by Marchese Cavalletti.

The palazzo property was acquired by Signor Parisi, Lennox-Boyd’s father, at the end of the Second World War. Her maternal grandfather was Armando Diaz, Duca della Vittoria, and Commander in Chief of the Italian army in the First World War, and several family objects of his are to be seen in the house.
